About Dial N

I started this page a few years ago after a friend of mine said he enjoyed reading my film critiques on Flixster.

I had been writing a countless number of reviews every time I watched a movie that came from Netflix -- or any film I had watched for that matter -- and then posted them via my Facebook account.

But then life took hold -- and "Dial N for Nerf Herder" was put on an extended hiatus.

Now, more than two years later, I have a kid and my "daddy duties" can sometimes get in the way of not only my movie watching, but also my ability to enjoy talking about and critiquing the films I like to -- and often time hate -- to watch. The good thing about being a dad, though, is sharing my love of film with my son. He won't remember it, but he's already seen several Alfred Hitchcock films, the entire Star Wars trilogy, Back to the Future, all of Wes Anderson's movies, all of the Star Trek films with the original cast and a vast multitude of films from the Criterion Collection as well as movies on the AFI and IMDB lists.

At the same time, work always finds a way to keep me busy.

But I'm bored and I need something to do. So I'm going to resurrect "Dial N" as a means for me to catalog my progress through the AFI's Top 100 lists, the IMDB Top 250, the bevy of Criterion films I've watched and to put on display my fan art, parodies, spoofs and other nonsensical meanderings related to film.

As a professional journalist, I strive for accuracy in my writing -- but as a journalist, I also can't promise that you will always like what I have to say in my criticism.

That said, I hope you enjoy my film blog.

Thanks,
Adam
